Properties
- Hydrogels are water or glycerin based gels
- Manufactured in amorphous gels
- Due to high water content Hydrogels are suited for dry or minimally draining wounds
- Kollagen™ Hydrogels assist body in recruiting wound repair cells to the site for speedy resolution of the wound
Indications
- Partial and full thickness wounds
- Pressure ulcers (stage I-IV)
- Venous stasis ulcers
- Ulcers caused by mixed vascular etiologies
- Diabetic ulcers
- 1st and 2nd degree burns
- Cuts, abrasions and surgical wounds
Composition
- Polyacrylic acid
- Methyl Paraben
- Propyl Paraben
- Collagen
- Wound buffering agents
Collatek hydrogel application
- Debride and cleanse the wound
- Apply medication if necessary
- Apply collatek hydrogel to the wound surface
- Apply secondary dressing eg. hypoallergenic tape, gauze etc.
- Use Collatek hydrogel until wound is fully healed
Collatek hydrogel removal
- Dressing change will be dependent on the exudates
- Repeat steps under product application as needed
Collatek hydrogel precaution
- Do not use if you have an allergy to bovine derived materials
